We towed our camper home with no more than a bill of sale, and needed the VIN number to get to the next step in getting her all titled and registered here with the CA DMV.
You will find the VIN of an old vintage Shasta camper located on the left side of the trailer tongue. Ours definitely required a bit of scraping, but the scratching away of layers of paint revealed the number we needed. After scraping at the paint with that tool that you can see magically appearing and disappearing in the pic below, here is a look at the revealed numbers.
