I purchased my first Shasta camper, a 1968 Shasta 1500, in 2008. I have been obsessed with the vintage camper lifestyle ever since.
Well, maybe it goes back a bit farther than that.
This is me c. 1983, having a bucket bath while helping my Dad wash our 1968 Shasta Airflyte.
The 1968 1500, aka Dad von Shasta. She lives in North Carolina with my folks.
The latest addition to my repertoire, the 1960 1600-SC, aka El Heffe von Shasta. She’s here in California with us!

August 10, 2022I found the vin number and serial number on my vintage Shasta travel trailer, after hours of sanding! Both were on the trailer tongue. But I don’t know what the numbers and letters really mean and have not found the DMV very helpful in providing me and information either. The VIN decoders online do not help. My vin doesn’t seem to follow the format. My vin is 13 numbers and letters. Can you help me decipher what I have?!
